The trucks on this style of longboard are top mounted, and these boards typically have cutouts around the nose and tail to help eliminate the chance of getting “wheel bite.” Dropdown deck is also a good choice for downhilling because of its maximum stability.

The shape and style of a longboard make a huge difference when it comes to what can be done on a longboard. Longer longboards are selected for dancing because they provide the foot space needed to be able to move freely back and forth on the board, and to allow individuals to more comfortable perform dance moves. Wider longboards with wheel cutouts are preferred to increase maneuverability and to allow individuals to perform slides. These are all the main aspects of performing dances on a longboard.
